Lesson Overview

1.1 – The Science of Habit Formation: Habits are actions your brain turns into shortcuts to save energy and time. They follow a loop with a cue, a routine, and a reward that keeps the cycle going. When the cue shows up, your brain gets ready to act without thinking. The reward tells your brain, “do this again next time.” Repeating the loop makes the pathway stronger and faster. This is why some habits feel automatic after a while. The same science works for both good and bad habits. You can change the loop by switching the routine while keeping the cue and reward. Small changes done often rewrite the brain’s patterns. Understanding this loop gives you the power to build habits that actually last.
