Lesson Overview

7.6 – Parasomnias: Night Terrors and Sleepwalking: Parasomnias are unusual behaviors that happen while sleeping, like sleepwalking or night terrors. They occur when part of the brain wakes while the rest stays asleep. People may talk, walk, or even eat without remembering it the next day. Night terrors often involve intense fear or movement, mostly in children. These episodes can be triggered by stress, sleep deprivation, or irregular schedules. Keeping a calm bedtime routine helps reduce occurrences. Avoiding caffeine and screens before bed supports deeper rest. Creating a safe sleep environment prevents injury during episodes. Most parasomnias fade with good sleep habits and time. A calm routine brings the brain back into full balance.
