Lesson Overview
1.1 – What Is Community and Why Does It Matter?: A community is a group of people who share a place, interest, or connection, and feeling like you belong to one gives life more meaning. It helps you feel supported because you know others care about you and want you to succeed. Being part of a community teaches you how to cooperate, share ideas, and solve problems with others. When people connect, they can make the world around them safer, kinder, and more exciting. A strong community can help during hard times by offering advice, food, or emotional support. It also brings joy through friendships, events, and shared celebrations. Communities can inspire you to grow by encouraging you to try new things and stay motivated toward your goals. They give you a sense of identity because you learn who you are through your relationships with others. Communities matter because humans are social and do better when they feel included. Feeling like you belong builds confidence and helps you see that you have something valuable to offer the world.
