Lesson Overview

1.151 – What Is Peer Pressure: Peer pressure happens when people your age try to influence how you think, act, or feel so you’ll fit in with them. It can be direct, like when someone dares you to do something, or subtle, like when you feel left out for saying no. Everyone experiences it at some point, even adults, but learning to recognize it gives you power. Sometimes, peer pressure pushes you to make good choices, like studying or joining a club. Other times, it can lead to regret if you go along just to be accepted. Knowing the difference between healthy encouragement and unhealthy control matters. The strongest people are those who can think for themselves, even when others disagree. You don’t have to be rude to stand up for what’s right. Peer pressure loses power when you’re confident in your values. Once you see it clearly, you can make decisions that truly match who you want to be.
