Course overview
Lesson Overview

1.4 – Trauma and Decision-Making Challenges: Making choices can feel overwhelming after trauma. The brain struggles to weigh options clearly when fear or doubt clouds judgment. Small decisions—what to wear, what to eat—can suddenly feel enormous. This happens because the mind fears making the wrong move and losing control. Trauma rewires the part of the brain responsible for trust and prediction. As a result, confidence fades, and hesitation grows. Decision fatigue can appear quickly, leaving the person emotionally drained. Rebuilding trust in one’s own choices takes time and gentle practice. Each small, confident choice helps restore self-control and independence.
