Lesson Overview

2.73 – Learning to Pause After Being Triggered: Triggers activate old pain and emotional reflexes. Learning to pause allows awareness to catch up to reaction. In that still moment, you choose response over impulse. Pausing prevents words that cause regret. It’s a practice of emotional discipline and self-protection. Recognizing your body’s signals—tight chest, quick breath—reminds you to stop and breathe. This pause creates room for empathy and understanding. Over time, it strengthens emotional control and trust. A mindful pause often saves what anger might destroy.
