Lesson Overview

2.81 – Recognizing Stonewalling and Addressing It: Stonewalling happens when one partner shuts down communication completely. It creates emotional distance and leaves the other person feeling invisible. Recognizing it early allows for gentle intervention. Addressing stonewalling means inviting openness without attack. A simple “I want to understand, not argue” can reopen connection. Compassion melts walls that criticism reinforces. The goal isn’t to force talk but to restore safety. When both people learn to name withdrawal kindly, recovery begins. Relationships heal when silence becomes dialogue again.
