Lesson Overview

2.45 – Muscle Tightness vs Muscle Readiness: Tight muscles are not always a problem, and loose muscles are not always ready to perform. Some tightness improves stability and force transfer during heavy lifts. Too much looseness before training can reduce strength output. Static stretching before lifting can temporarily reduce power in some movements. Dynamic warm-ups prepare muscles without reducing readiness. Muscle readiness is about control, temperature, and activation. Tightness becomes an issue only when it limits range of motion or causes pain. Learning the difference prevents unnecessary stretching that weakens performance. Warm-ups should prepare the nervous system, not exhaust it. This lesson teaches lifters to listen to movement quality instead of chasing flexibility. When muscles are ready, strength feels smooth and controlled. Proper preparation improves both safety and performance.
