Lesson Overview

5.3 – Using Verbal Praise Effectively: Words can be as powerful as any gift when they are real and specific. Saying “Good job” helps, but saying “I like how you finished calmly even when it was hard” teaches exactly what to repeat. Praise must be timely so the brain connects it to the behavior. It should focus on effort and strategy more than talent. Too much vague praise can lose meaning over time. Using eye contact and a genuine tone makes praise believable. Verbal encouragement builds inner motivation and confidence. It also strengthens relationships and trust. Over time, consistent words become a habit that lifts everyone involved.
