Lesson Overview

1.3 – How the Brain Directs Focus: Your brain uses networks to aim attention like a camera lens. The front areas plan, choose, and redirect when you drift. The deeper areas react to alarms and surprises that grab you fast. These systems work together to keep you safe and on track. When you are tired or stressed, the “alarm” system gets louder. When you are rested and calm, the planning system leads the way. Cues like timers and checklists support the planning system. Breaks and movement quiet the alarm when it gets jumpy. You can feel the handoff between these systems during your day. Learning this rhythm helps you steer focus with more control.
