8.2 – Short Breaks to Reset Attention: Taking short breaks during work isn’t being lazy—it’s science for your brain. Regular pauses prevent overload and renew focus naturally. Even two or three minutes of stepping away makes a difference. Stretch, breathe deeply, or look out a window to rest your eyes. Avoid jumping into your phone, which adds more noise instead of rest. Returning to work after a short reset often feels like starting fresh. Breaks also help memory by giving the brain time to organize new information. You can set timers to remind yourself when to step away. A few mindful pauses throughout the day add up to hours of better focus. Small rests create big recovery for attention strength.
