Lesson Overview

6.3 – Identifying Emotional Distractions: Emotions can pull focus faster than any phone notification. Strong feelings like anger, fear, or excitement make your brain prioritize them first. That’s natural, but unchecked emotions can take your attention off your goals. The trick is not to fight feelings but to name them. Saying, “I feel anxious” or “I feel angry” helps the brain calm down. Once named, emotions lose some of their power and become easier to manage. You can use breathing, walking, or journaling to release emotional energy. Being aware of how feelings affect your focus builds emotional intelligence. Each time you notice instead of reacting, you gain control. Understanding emotions transforms distraction into direction.
