Lesson Overview

2.5 – Recognizing Bias and Stereotypes in Society: Bias and stereotypes are shortcuts the brain uses but often unfairly. They can shape how we treat people or how people treat us. Recognizing them starts with noticing your own thoughts and reactions. Ask where those ideas came from and whether they are true. Listen to real stories from people different from you. Media and history sometimes teach incomplete pictures, so stay curious. When you challenge bias, you open doors for fairness and understanding. You also learn to stand up for yourself and others. Small acts of awareness can change how a community grows.
