Lesson Overview

1.2 – Recognizing Internal vs. External Influences: Internal influences are your values, interests, and personal goals. External influences are prizes, pressure, or what others expect. Both can push you to act, but they feel different inside. Internal motivation feels more free and lasting. External motivation can help you start quickly. You can notice the source by asking why you want a result. If the reason is “it matters to me,” it’s likely internal. If the reason is “so I don’t get in trouble,” it’s likely external. Knowing the difference helps you plan smarter steps. Balance both so your progress is steady and meaningful.
