Lesson Overview

3.9 – Grounding Exercises to Stay Present: Grounding keeps you connected to the here and now when emotions try to pull you away. You can name five things you see, four things you feel, three things you hear, two things you smell, and one thing you taste. These sensory steps pull you out of racing thoughts. Grounding reminds your brain that the danger isn’t as big as it feels. It helps slow your breathing and calm your body. You can also touch something textured or feel your feet on the floor. The goal is to shift focus from fear to safety. When grounded, you make wiser choices and listen better.
