Lesson Overview

4.2 – Avoiding Interruptions While Others Speak: Interrupting breaks focus and signals that your words matter more than theirs. When you stop doing it, the other person feels respected and valued. Holding back shows patience and self-control, even if you disagree. It gives space for full ideas to form before judgment. If you catch yourself wanting to jump in, take a breath instead. Wait for a pause or ask permission to respond. You can jot down your thoughts so you don’t forget them. Avoiding interruptions also helps you catch the real point, not just the surface. The more you listen, the better your response will be. Respectful silence can say more than rushed words.
