Lesson Overview

4.3 – Practicing Reflective Statements: Reflective statements show you’re paying attention and trying to understand. You repeat or rephrase what you heard, such as “So you felt left out when that happened?” This confirms meaning and builds connection. It also gives the other person a chance to correct or clarify. Reflective listening slows the pace of conflict and replaces defense with care. It turns tension into teamwork by showing you value accuracy. Using a calm tone and open body language makes it even more effective. You don’t have to agree to reflect; you only have to understand. Each reflection builds trust like a small bridge between views. Over time, these bridges make every conversation stronger.
