Lesson Overview

6.1 – Identifying Positive vs. Negative Relationships: Recognizing which relationships help you grow and which hold you back is key to maintaining emotional stability after transition. Positive relationships encourage honesty, respect, and accountability, giving you the courage to keep improving. They celebrate your progress without demanding perfection and offer guidance during challenges. Negative relationships, on the other hand, often drain energy through manipulation, judgment, or inconsistency. Learning to identify warning signs—like constant criticism, lack of boundaries, or peer pressure—helps protect your emotional space. Healthy relationships bring balance, communication, and mutual effort, while toxic ones thrive on control or chaos. Reflecting on how you feel after spending time with someone often reveals the truth—uplifted or drained. Choosing relationships intentionally strengthens self-worth and stability. Over time, surrounding yourself with genuine, supportive people becomes one of the most powerful tools for long-term growth and resilience during reentry.
