Lesson Overview

3.1 – Recognizing Early Signs of Cravings: Recognizing cravings begins with awareness of how the body and mind send warning signals before urges become overwhelming. Subtle changes often appear first—like restlessness, irritability, or daydreaming about old habits. Physical sensations such as tightness in the chest or stomach, pacing, or repetitive thoughts may emerge. Emotional triggers also surface, including boredom, loneliness, or anxiety. Learning to identify these patterns early gives you control before the craving takes over. Self-awareness transforms impulsive moments into opportunities for prevention. Once you know your cues, you can respond strategically instead of reacting automatically. Early recognition helps you choose coping tools that interrupt escalation. With consistent practice, you’ll begin to sense cravings long before they peak.
