Lesson Overview

4.10 – Building Positive Self-Statements to Reframe Thoughts: Negative thinking often fuels emotional distress and self-sabotage. Positive self-statements challenge that cycle. They rewire mental scripts that once justified harmful choices. Statements like “I am capable,” “I can learn from this,” or “This feeling will pass” become cognitive armor against despair. These affirmations shift the brain’s focus from defeat to determination. With repetition, self-talk evolves from survival language to growth language. It builds emotional confidence, reduces relapse triggers, and nurtures a mindset of recovery through empowerment.
