Lesson Overview

3.3 – Practicing Active Listening When Receiving Feedback: Active listening means focusing fully on the speaker without interrupting or planning your reply. It shows you care about their point of view. Making eye contact, nodding, and saying “I understand” helps the other person feel heard. Even if the message feels uncomfortable, staying quiet gives you time to think. Asking calm clarifying questions shows maturity and interest. Repeating what you heard can prevent confusion. Active listening helps lower emotional tension and builds trust. It keeps small issues from turning into big misunderstandings. Listening first gives space for empathy to grow. Understanding deeply always comes before responding clearly.
