9.6 – When to Call for Professional Help: Professional help is needed when a situation becomes too dangerous or complicated to handle alone. If someone is unconscious, hallucinating, threatening harm, or unable to breathe, trained responders must be contacted right away. When emotional or mental health crises appear — like panic attacks that worsen, suicidal statements, or violent behavior — calling for help can save a life. Acting early, instead of waiting, gives professionals more time to help. You do not have to know exactly what is wrong to call; describing what you see is enough. Calling for help shows courage because you are prioritizing safety. Professionals appreciate when people take emergencies seriously, and your quick decision may prevent long-term harm and protect the future of someone in danger.
