10.2 – Recognizing Signs of Mental Overwhelm: Mental overwhelm sneaks up when demands pile up faster than your brain can process, leaving you tense, distracted, or emotionally drained. Common signs include forgetting small tasks, snapping at others, or feeling frozen when making decisions. Your body may also signal it through headaches, tight shoulders, or trouble sleeping. These aren’t weaknesses—they’re red flags showing your brain needs rest and structure. Overwhelm often comes from juggling too many open loops at once: texts to reply to, chores unfinished, or thoughts racing in the background. Learning to spot it early prevents burnout before it spirals. It’s about noticing patterns—when you stop enjoying things, when concentration fades, or when you feel constant pressure. Recognizing overwhelm lets you pause before pushing harder. It gives you the power to reset instead of collapse. Awareness is the first step toward recovery and better focus.
