1.4 – Recognizing Distractions and Replacing Them: Distractions don’t always look like chaos; sometimes they appear as thoughts that seem urgent but aren’t. The first step to managing them is noticing what consistently breaks your flow—maybe it’s social media, hunger, boredom, or emotional stress. Once you spot these triggers, plan replacements that redirect your focus instead of letting it fade. If you catch yourself drifting, pause, take a breath, and gently return to the task. Keep a notepad nearby for intrusive ideas so you can revisit them later without losing momentum. Over time, your brain learns that it’s safe to let go of distractions without fear of forgetting them. The goal isn’t to eliminate all interruptions but to recover quickly from them. True focus is resilience—choosing again and again to return your mind to where it matters most.
