Lesson Overview

1.10 – Taking Responsibility Without Overfunctioning: Responsibility means owning your part, not everyone’s part. List your core duties and circle tasks you grabbed out of urgency or habit. Ask, “What truly belongs to me, and what am I rescuing?” Practice the “24-hour pause” before fixing someone else’s work. Offer support as choices, not commands. Replace overexplaining with one clear sentence and a deadline. If anxiety rises, breathe and let natural consequences teach. Hold boundaries kindly: “I can help after my tasks.” Invite others to share the load by assigning clear roles. Track the relief you feel when you stop overfunctioning. Celebrate shared wins instead of solo hero stories. Over time, balanced responsibility grows trust, competence, and calmer days for everyone involved.
