Lesson Overview

1.3 – Understanding Power Dynamics and Fairness: Map how decisions are made: who suggests, who decides, and who implements. Look for patterns like one person doing “invisible” planning while another gives final approval. Define fairness as clarity plus shared input, not identical tasks. Create three types of decisions—quick, collaborative, and big—and agree on who is involved for each. Practice turning complaints into requests using simple language. Track who holds the calendar, money choices, and discipline moments; rotate where possible. If someone has more power in one area, balance it with leadership in another. Name pressures outside the home, like work or culture, that tilt power. Use cool-down rules before discussing hard topics. Schedule brief, regular alignment talks so corrections stay small and respectful. Build trust by documenting agreements and revisiting them kindly.
