🛡️ Teen Boundaries, Consent, and the Law: What Teens Must Know About Sexual Misconduct *coming soon
Course overview
Lesson Overview

1.47 – What If the Person Is a Family Member?: When the person who hurt you is part of your family, the situation can feel even harder. You might feel confused, betrayed, or afraid of breaking up your family. It’s important to know that what happened is not your fault. Abuse within families is more common than people realize, and there are people trained to help safely handle it. You can talk to a school counselor, social worker, or hotline advocate who understands family dynamics. They can connect you to safe housing or emergency contacts if needed. The focus will be on your safety first, not on blaming you. Sometimes telling a trusted adult outside your home is the safest step. It’s okay to care about your family and still want protection from harm. You deserve peace, even if the person is someone close to you.
