Lesson Overview

1.73 – What If They Threaten You Over the Pregnancy?: Threats connected to a pregnancy are serious and can be treated as abuse or coercion. Whether the threats are verbal, online, or physical, you have the right to protection. Keep records of every message, voicemail, or witness statement you can. Call the police or a domestic-violence hotline if you feel unsafe. Restraining orders can block contact from the person making threats. Shelters and advocates can help you relocate temporarily for safety. Never agree to meet alone with someone who has threatened you. Even if they claim it’s just words, the law treats coercion seriously. Hospitals and clinics can document the threats to support future legal action. Threats during pregnancy can add stress and harm both emotional and physical health. A counselor or advocate can help you make a safety plan that fits your situation. You can also change phone numbers, online accounts, or addresses confidentially. The goal is to keep you and your baby secure. Taking action early shows strength, not weakness. Safety always comes first, and there are people ready to protect you every step of the way.
