🛡️ Teen Survival Guide for Police Encounters
Course overview
Lesson Overview

1.15 – What to Say If You’re With Friends and One Person Is Targeted: Group encounters can spiral fast if everyone talks or moves at once. If your friend is being questioned, stay quiet and still. Avoid jumping in or defending them out loud. Too many voices create confusion and danger. You can record if legal, but do it calmly and visibly. Keep your distance while staying close enough to witness. Tell your friend softly, “Stay calm, we’re here.” Support doesn’t mean stepping forward — it means keeping things from getting worse. Afterward, you can all debrief and get legal help together. Survival as a group starts with discipline, not noise.
