4.15 – Practicing Stillness Without Distraction: Stillness gives your nervous system a chance to reset when the world feels too loud or demanding. Sitting or lying quietly with no screens, no tasks, and no rush allows your brain to shift out of stress mode. At first, stillness may feel uncomfortable because your mind is used to constant stimulation. But with patience, stillness becomes a powerful way to reconnect with your breath, your senses, and your inner calm. Even one or two minutes of stillness can lower tension and clear your thoughts. This practice teaches you that peace doesn’t always require doing something — sometimes, calm appears when you simply pause. Stillness helps you strengthen your ability to stay grounded, even when life moves quickly around you.
