Lesson Overview

7.5 – Exploring the Difference Between Emotion and Reaction: Emotions happen automatically, but reactions are choices we make afterward. Stress can trick us into believing that reactions must be fast and intense, but slowing down can change everything. When you recognize that emotion is the signal and reaction is the response, you gain control over your behavior. You can feel anger without yelling, feel fear without shutting down, and feel sadness without isolating yourself. Separating emotion from reaction gives you time to breathe and think about what you truly need. This skill protects relationships and builds confidence in how you handle challenges. You are allowed to pause before choosing how to respond.
