7.11 – Reframing Negative Self-Talk With Compassion: Negative self-talk can appear when stress makes you doubt your abilities or worth. Thoughts like “I messed everything up” or “I can’t do anything right” grow louder when pressure rises. Reframing means noticing those harsh messages and replacing them with kinder, more truthful ones. Instead of “I failed,” you might say “I’m learning and trying my best.” Compassion changes the tone of your inner voice, reminding you that mistakes don’t define you. You treat yourself the way you would treat a friend — with patience, respect, and understanding. Reframing breaks the cycle where stress creates self-criticism, and self-criticism creates more stress. With practice, your inner voice becomes a source of comfort instead of fear. You learn that you deserve kindness from yourself every single day.
