Lesson Overview

7.13 – Strengthening Your Emotional Vocabulary: The more precisely you can name what you feel, the easier it becomes to manage that feeling. Emotional vocabulary includes words for different levels of stress, worry, sadness, anger, and even joy. Instead of saying “I feel bad,” you might identify that you feel “overwhelmed,” “disappointed,” or “nervous about the future.” Naming emotions clearly shows your brain the right direction for coping. It also helps you communicate more effectively with others so they understand how to support you. Building this vocabulary takes practice, but each new word gives you more power to express and understand yourself. A strong emotional vocabulary creates clarity where confusion once lived.
