Lesson Overview

1.11 – Practicing Awareness of Surroundings: Strong awareness starts with looking up and around. Notice street names, building numbers, and landmarks. Watch people’s movement and mood without staring. Listen for sirens, announcements, and traffic sounds. Keep one ear free if you use headphones. Walk with purpose and steady pace. Pause in open areas to recheck your plan. Avoid staring at your phone while crossing. Scan for exits and safe helpers as you go. Review what you saw at the end of the trip. Awareness is a skill that grows each day.
