5.5 – Understanding Right-of-Way Rules: Right-of-way means knowing who should move first in traffic. Pedestrians usually have priority at marked crosswalks. Still, it’s smart to wait until drivers clearly stop before stepping forward. Cars turning right or left may not always see you immediately. Understanding when to yield helps prevent close calls. Learning these rules builds mutual respect between walkers and drivers. At stop signs, wait for vehicles to fully halt before moving. If unsure, signal drivers with a wave or nod. Always prioritize safety over speed. Knowing right-of-way rules gives you the power to cross confidently and calmly.
