Lesson Overview

4.9 – Asking Drivers or Staff for Help: Drivers and station workers are there to assist passengers who have questions. Speaking clearly and politely helps them understand your needs. Starting with “Excuse me” or “Can you please tell me…” shows respect. Ask about stops, fares, or routes before boarding if you’re unsure. If you miss your stop, calmly let them know right away. Most staff have maps or radios to guide you correctly. Listening carefully to their instructions prevents confusion later. Saying “thank you” builds good connections for future help. Being confident but respectful makes communication smoother. Staff members often appreciate travelers who ask questions calmly and kindly.
