⚠️ Crisis Prevention & De-escalation Skills *coming soon
Course overview
Lesson Overview

1.3 – Stages of Crisis Development: A crisis usually grows through stages, not all at once. It often starts with tension that builds quietly before signs become obvious. Early warning cues like irritability, changes in sleep, or restlessness show stress rising. Next comes the escalation stage, when emotions grow strong and reasoning shrinks. If not managed, it peaks in a breaking point where thinking and self-control can collapse. Afterward, exhaustion sets in, leaving confusion or regret. Knowing these stages helps you slow down the climb toward chaos. Each stage offers a chance to step back and apply coping tools. Recognizing where you are in the process creates room for prevention instead of reaction. Every crisis has a rhythm, and learning to hear it helps you respond with balance instead of panic.
