Lesson Overview

1.59 – Understanding Emotional Dysregulation: Emotional dysregulation means feelings swing too fast or too hard to manage easily. It can come from trauma, stress, or certain conditions that affect control. During dysregulation, reactions feel bigger than the situation itself. Recognizing when emotions are too strong helps slow things down. Grounding, deep breathing, or stepping away resets the system. Building skills for balance takes time and patience. Support and self-awareness are key to regaining control. Emotions aren’t bad—they just need structure. The goal is not to erase feeling but to guide it safely. Stability grows from understanding, not suppression.
