Lesson Overview

10.11 – Repairing Disrespect Through Apology: Disrespect happens, but repair makes it right. When voices rise or harsh words slip, pause and breathe first. Encourage calm reflection before returning to talk. Model apologizing quickly and sincerely for your own missteps. Teach children that apology means ownership, not shame. Let the hurt person share what would help rebuild trust. Praise courage when anyone chooses to make amends. Add small gestures of care after the apology to seal repair. Reflect on how it feels to fix, not hide, mistakes. Repair restores safety and proves that respect always wins.
