Lesson Overview

9.4 – Building Empathy for Others’ Feelings: Empathy helps children connect beyond themselves. Use stories or movies to talk about characters’ emotions. Ask questions like “How do you think they felt?” Reflect daily on moments when others seemed upset or happy. Model empathy by naming your own emotions honestly. Encourage comforting gestures like kind words or helping hands. Praise small acts of noticing others’ needs. Create opportunities to volunteer or help at home. Keep reminding them that empathy means caring in action. When empathy becomes natural, friendships grow stronger and deeper.
