Lesson Overview

3.12 – Helping Children Talk About Worries: Worry shows up in thoughts and in the body. Teach how to spot worry signs like tight stomach or fast breath. Use a worry scale to rate the size of the feeling. Sort worries into “can control” and “cannot control.” Make a tiny action plan for what is controllable. Practice slow breathing to lower body alarms. Set a short “worry time” to contain spirals. Use facts to check unhelpful thoughts gently. Celebrate brave tries, not perfect outcomes. Step by step, worries lose their power.
