Lesson Overview

1.2 – Reading Your Child’s Emotional Cues: Children send signals before they use words. You might see wide eyes, a tight jaw, or a sudden quiet. These signs can mean fear, anger, or overwhelm. Notice changes in breathing, movement, and energy. Stay curious instead of jumping to conclusions. Reflect what you see with simple, caring language. Give space for the child to nod, point, or add words. When you read cues well, the child feels understood. That feeling lowers stress and builds closeness. With practice, you will notice patterns and respond sooner.
