Lesson Overview

3.4 – Reading Social Cues and Nonverbal Signals: Social cues help you understand how others feel without them having to explain everything. You can look for signals in facial expressions, tone of voice, and body language. If someone looks uncomfortable or steps back, giving them space shows respect. When people lean in or smile, it may mean they want to keep talking. Paying attention to the energy of the group helps you know when to speak or listen. You can ask clarifying questions if a situation feels confusing. Responding appropriately makes conversations smoother and more enjoyable. Everyone learns these skills at their own pace, so practicing helps you improve. Understanding cues builds stronger communication and prevents misunderstandings. Noticing how others feel shows empathy, which is an important part of community life.
