6.11 – What to Do If a Group Isn’t the Right Fit: Sometimes a group doesn’t feel comfortable or enjoyable, and that is okay. Paying attention to your feelings can help you decide if the environment supports your growth. You can try a few meetings to give yourself time to adjust before making a decision. If something feels unsafe or disrespectful, leaving the group is a responsible choice. Sharing your concerns with a trusted person can help you understand what isn’t working. It’s helpful to thank the group members for the chance to participate before moving on. Remember that leaving does not mean failure; it means you are choosing what is best for you. There are always other communities that may match your interests and values better. Trusting yourself builds confidence in making social decisions. Finding the right group should bring joy, support, and belonging.
