Lesson Overview

9.6 – Using Community Supports Without Overreliance: Community supports like bus services, food programs, or helpers can make life easier and safer. Using them wisely means accepting help when needed, but not depending on them for every task. Support should help you grow more independent over time. If you rely too much, you may miss chances to learn new skills. Checking in with yourself helps you find the right balance. You can practice doing small parts of tasks on your own first. Learning from supports builds confidence and self-trust. Accepting help is smart, but so is challenging yourself. Community supports are tools that help you move forward—not stay in the same place. Independence grows each time you take the lead.
