2.13 – Handling One-Word or Short Answers: When someone gives short replies, it doesn’t always mean they dislike you. They might be shy, tired, or distracted. Stay patient and avoid taking it personally. You can ask open-ended questions to draw out longer responses. Talk about topics they care about to spark interest. Use body language that feels relaxed and open. Keep the energy friendly, not pushy or forced. If the silence continues, it’s okay to pause or change topics. Ending politely shows maturity and awareness. Sometimes quiet moments still build trust and comfort.
