Lesson Overview

4.9 – Responding to Someone’s Emotions with Care: When people share strong feelings, your reaction matters. Stay calm even if they cry or raise their voice. Keep your tone soft and body open. Use words like “I hear you” or “That sounds painful.” Avoid saying “calm down” or minimizing their emotions. If you don’t know what to say, silence can still be powerful. Offer tissues, water, or time to breathe together. Don’t rush to fix—support comes from being steady. Your calmness helps them find balance again. Caring responses turn emotional storms into safe conversations.
