Lesson Overview

9.2 – Understanding Intrinsic vs. Extrinsic Motivation: Intrinsic motivation comes from inside—it’s when you act because you enjoy or value the task. Extrinsic motivation comes from outside—like rewards, grades, or praise. Both can work together, but intrinsic motivation creates deeper commitment. When you care about growth or curiosity, you stay consistent even without rewards. Knowing which type drives you helps you plan better goals. External rewards can start action, but inner reasons keep it alive. Balancing both creates motivation that’s strong, lasting, and healthy.
