🛡️ Teen Survival Guide for Police Encounters
Course overview
Lesson Overview

3.6 – What to Do During Protests, Rallies, or Large Events: Public events are powerful but can turn unpredictable fast. Always know the route and exit points. Stay with trusted friends and have a plan if you get separated. Carry an ID and emergency contact number. Keep your phone charged and recording permissions ready. Stay peaceful—don’t throw objects or argue with officers. If police issue orders, follow calmly while documenting from a safe distance. Never resist or touch an officer. If detained, ask clearly if you are being arrested or free to go. Remain silent except to request a lawyer. Your voice is strongest when you stay safe, aware, and lawful.
