🛡️ Teen Survival Guide for Police Encounters
Course overview
Lesson Overview

3.7 – If You’re Filming the Police – What You Must Know: Filming officers in public is your right, but it comes with rules. Stay at a safe distance and don’t interfere with their work. Keep your hands visible and announce that you’re recording. Never block their movement or shout at them. If they ask you to move, step back without turning off your camera. Use your phone’s lock screen to prevent deletion. Don’t post live if it could endanger someone. Keep calm, even if they act annoyed. If threatened, ask calmly, “Am I free to record?” and don’t resist. Save your video to the cloud as soon as possible. Documentation keeps everyone accountable and protected.
